Recently, Xueyan has taken an interest in enhancing the visibility of communication scholars and their research through her podcast, 博士生们的日记 (Diaries for Ph.D.). She is exploring the potential of audio as a medium for building an academic community and contributing to public understanding of communication studies. The podcast will feature Ph.D. students and scholars from communication and related fields, creating a “database” of firsthand experiences related to doctoral studies.

The podcast aims to create a free space for Ph.D. students and scholars to connect with the community by sharing their unique experiences. The first objective is to promote the latest research in communication studies to the public, allowing students to discuss their research and the stories behind their work. The second objective is to provide insights into the daily lives of Ph.D. students, addressing their studies, research, and work-life balance. This focus can serve as a supportive intervention for current mental health issues in academia.
